Hospitality Supervisor
Under the direction of the Hospitality Manager, the Hospitality Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the winery’s Historic Winery and Villa venues. This position is responsible for facilitating the sales programs, opening and closing duties, supervising employees, participating in tastings and hospitality programs, and executing policies and procedures set forth by management. Such efforts are focused on providing gracious hospitality to consumers and trade guests, attaining monthly sales goals and contributing to a rewarding and positive work environment for hospitality staff.

Essential Functions
•  Ensures that every guest enjoys their experience and leaves with a memorable and positive impression of our winery, service, and wines.
•  Oversees daily staff in the Visitor Center to ensure proper hospitality and service is provided to all customers and that company procedures are employed.
•  Communicate with leadership in a clear, effective, and timely manner on all relevant items related to team members, as well as guest satisfaction.
•  In collaboration with Hospitality Supervisor and Manager team, coordinates staff scheduling including lunches and breaks, regularly scheduled shifts, approved absences, call-off protocols, emergency situations and special events; partners with HR on sick and return-to-work protocols.
•  Manages and trains hospitality staff to include alignment with Trefethen’s service pillars and standards, continuing education opportunities, and Trefethen University sessions.
•  Possesses commanding knowledge of POS and reservations system; provides team members and guests with prompt resolution of order and reservation issues as they arise.
•  Ensures that cash accounting is correct and complete at end of business day, and closing procedures are executed consistently and completely.
•  Creates, or coordinates the creation of periodic sales and visitation reports reflecting progress towards monthly goals.
•  Works on Visitor Center floor and in back-of-house; serves as a Wine Educator, pouring wines and assisting in all aspects of guest tours, tastings and hospitality.
•  Maintains a commanding knowledge of our wines, vineyards, winemaking, history and sense of place.
•  Works with the Hospitality Manager to ensure all aspects of brand message, communication, talking points, etc., are consistent and that all staff is updated with current wine and sales information.
•  Maintains current knowledge of legal issues pertaining to inter-state shipping of wine to consumers. Regularly educates staff on related subjects as well as assists with ensuring that all POS materials are current with legal parameters.
•  Represents winery at on and off-site tastings and events.
•  Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
•  Three years or more of prior relevant tasting room experience required; restaurant/dining room experience highly desirable.
•  Must have demonstrated sales ability and excellent organizational and customer service skills.
•  Proficient computer skills, including email, customer databases, Google, Outlook, Word and Excel
•  Proficiency in POS and Reservations systems; Commerce7 and CellarPass a plus.
•  The ability to work and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, while maintaining a high level of detail is required.
•  Must be capable of working independently and have the ability to take initiative and be self-directed.
•  Versatile, flexible, dependable, and willing to work within constantly changing priorities.

Working Conditions
Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements
•  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
•  Operate a desktop computer using keyboard and mouse, employing repetitive arm and wrist motions
•  Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
•  Specific vision abilities require close and distance vision
•  Sit and stand for long periods of time
•  Occasionally bend, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch or climb stairs

Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay scale offered for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hour. This salary range represents what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. However, the actual pay rate will depend upon job-related factors such as overall qualifications, skills, experience, education, etc. The Company reserves the right to modify the range at any time.
